1. Scope of Shop Policies
By scheduling any service with Zaelex LLC — online, over the phone, or in person — the client agrees to the following operational parameters, liability limitations, and payment terms in their entirety.
2. Pre-Existing Conditions & Substrate Disclaimer
- —Paint Protection Film (PPF) & Vinyl Wraps: Our film systems are designed to adhere to factory-original, fully cured paint finishes. Zaelex LLC is not liable for paint lifting, clear coat delamination, or peeling on aftermarket repaints, touched-up areas, or pre-existing damaged body panels during installation or eventual material removal.
- —Surface Imperfections: Pre-existing surface flaws, deep rock chips, scratches, or paint etching may remain visible beneath or telegraph through applied films and do not constitute a defect in our workmanship.
- —Window Tint Color Variations: Minor shade or tone variations may occur across different glass panels due to differences in factory glass composition or curvature. Such variations do not constitute a material defect.
3. Liability for In-Shop Damage
In the event a client vehicle sustains physical or cosmetic damage while under the care, custody, and control of Zaelex LLC, the parties agree that our liability shall be limited to arranging and covering the reasonable cost of professional repair at a qualified facility of our selection. This limitation does not apply in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct on the part of Zaelex LLC. Nothing in this section is intended to waive any rights California law does not permit to be waived.
4. Curing, Maintenance, and Aftercare
- —Curing Phase: Window films and PPF require a curing period of typically 7 to 30 days depending on local climate conditions in the Modesto, CA area. Minor moisture pockets or a hazy appearance during this period are a normal part of the curing process and will naturally dissipate. Do not touch, poke, or attempt to press out these areas.
- —Washing Restrictions: Vehicles treated with PPF or vinyl wraps must not be taken through automatic brush car washes or subjected to high-pressure washing systems for a minimum of seven (7) days following delivery. Pressure washers must always be kept at least 12 inches away from any film edges to prevent lifting or peeling.
5. Payments, Deposits, and Refund Policy
- —Payment Upon Completion: Full payment for all parts and labor is due upon project completion, prior to vehicle release. Pursuant to California Civil Code §3068, Zaelex LLC maintains a possessory mechanic's lien on any vehicle in our care and reserves the right to retain the vehicle until all outstanding balances are paid in full.
- —Storage Fees: Vehicles left uncollected for more than 48 hours following notification of project completion are subject to a storage fee of $50.00 per calendar day.
- —Non-Refundable Deposits: All deposits, partial payments, and payments for completed services are non-refundable. Appointments canceled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours of notice will forfeit their scheduling deposit in full.
6. Workmanship Warranty
Zaelex LLC warrants its installation workmanship against defects in labor for a period of one (1) year from the date of service completion. This warranty covers explicit installation errors such as improper adhesion, edge lifting, or bubbling caused by our installation process. It does not cover damage from road hazards, rock chips, automatic car washes, abrasive cleaning chemicals, improper aftercare, or normal wear and tear. Manufacturer warranties on film and tint products are separate from this labor warranty and are provided directly by the respective manufacturers.
